Doha: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Italian Republic H E Khalid bin Youssef Al Sada underscored that the visit of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Italy reflects the depth of the solid relations between the two countries in various important fields.
This is especially as the world is going through difficult circumstances and challenges, and suffers from energy crises, political tensions, and existing conflicts, the envoy said.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ambassador said that the visit confirms the fruitful and constructive cooperation based on promoting common interests between the two countries and peoples in overcoming crises. He pointed to the two countries’ joint COVID-19 confrontation efforts, in addition to the current cooperation to confront the issue of energy security that has afflicted Europe and the world.
The Ambassador indicated that the visit of H H the Amir also comes to strengthen the bonds and ties of bilateral relations for cooperation in the security field, noting that this cooperation was evident during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to the cooperation in the defence field as this stems from the deep-rooted convictions of the State of Qatar in establishing international and regional security and peace.
Al Sada stressed that the political relations between the two countries have recently risen to the highest levels. He explained that the Italian side relied a lot on the regional and international relations established by the State of Qatar, thanks to the flexibility of its movement within the space of mediation diplomacy, which showed its fruits in many regions.
The Ambassador expected that during the visit, the two countries would discuss economic and investment relations in the infrastructure, tourism, real estate, industry, energy, culture sectors and other fields.
Al Sada praised the existing cooperation, which is based on a spirit of friendship and mutual benefit between the two friendly countries and peoples.
