Doha: The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs provided QR12,800,908 aid in December for 300 eligible families inside Qatar.
Aids included the permanent and irregular monthly aid, all of which are aids disbursed by the funds management to the eligible families registered with it in accordance with Shariah regulations. The amounts were distributed as follows: monthly aid provided to eligible families at a value of QR9,200,135; and lump-sum aid, which is aid disbursed for one time or more according to families need, at a value of QR3,600,773.
Assistant Director of the Zakat Fund Department Ahmed Sultan Al Meseifri said that the aid is disbursed on a monthly basis in accordance with the regulations and laws approved by the Zakat Fund, stressing that Department is keen to research and investigate to ensure that zakat is delivered to the actual beneficiaries of the families who apply for assistance.
