Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced its participation in the activities of the 31st edition of the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), which will start tomorrow under the slogan “Science is Light”.
The ministry said in a statement that it will participate with a pavilion to introduce its scientific, jurisprudential, advocacy and social publications, as well as its electronic programs and qualitative activities.
The ministry’s pavilion will include various departments and centres affiliated with it.
The corner of the General Administration of Endowments will present the endowments projects and introduce endowment and its banks, the proceeds of which go to community service.
The corner of the Call (D’awa) Department will include the section of the Islamic web and its activities and events, in addition to displaying and distributing the publications of the Religious Guidance Department.
The Department of the Holy Quran and its Sciences will be present via an interactive screen how to teach the letters of the alphabet “Al Qaida Al Nooraniah” for children.
The Ministry’s pavilion will also include a corner for Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre, while the Islamic Affairs Department will participate with its most important publications of Islamic heritage.
The Islamic Research and Studies Department will display its publications such as “The Nations Book” and “Sheikh Ali Endowment Award”, as well as some special publications.
The Zakat Fund Department will participate in a corner that explains the methods of collection, revenues and expenses and how they are disbursed to those who are legally entitled.
Meanwhile, the Information Systems Department will also participate by presenting its most important electronic applications that help segments of society to have access to the various services of the Ministry. The Department of Mosques will present examples of some of the mosques scattered in the country.
