DOHA: The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) has been awarded the top level of accreditation in the FIA Institute’s Officials Safety Training programme.
Following a thorough review process, the QMMF gained the Achievement of Excellence level and will now become a Regional Training Provider (RTP) for officials. When it does so it will be the ninth National Sporting Authority (ASN) to become an RTP for officials’ training, joining the ASNs of Australia, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.
Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, QMMF President, said: “As an ASN, we have encouraged the highest standards of marshalling in our own country and we look forward to helping other ASNs to achieve this in the Middle East region and beyond.”
Gerard Saillant, FIA Institute President, praised QMMF for its professional approach
“It is fantastic to see so many ASNs engage with the officials programme. We now have a strong network of RTPs that will only continue to grow and help improve marshalling across the globe,” Saillant said.
Raising the standards of motor sport marshalling has been a key aim for the FIA Institute, through the Officials Safety Training Programme. The accreditation scheme enables ASNs to measure themselves against highest standards and those who most closely align to these standards can then apply to become an RTP.
