Baghdad: Five earthquakes rattled the capital Baghdad and some other provinces in less than two hours on Thursday.
Iraqi sources said that an earlier earthquake hit Baghdad, Waset and Babil in southern Iraq, and Diyala in the north east of the country, following four other earthquakes in les than two hours.

An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit most areas of Sulaymaniyah city, while the rest tremors that hit the city and its outskirts measured 5.6, 5.5 and 4.7 on the Richter scale.

The quakes followed the strong earthquake which hit the Iranian western province of Kermanshah earlier.
