Doha, Qatar: The Finnish embassy in Doha celebrated the 108th Independence Day of the Republic of Finland, yesterday. The event also highlighted bilateral ties between Qatar and Finland, and Finland’s development and achievements since independence.
Minister of Labor, H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri; Minister of Transport H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani ; Former President of Finland H E Tarja Halonen; Ambassador of Finland to Qatar H E Juha Mustonen; and Director of the Protocol Department, MoFA, H E Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro graced the event.
A diplomatic reception also brought together government officials, diplomats, members of the business community, and the Finnish community at the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar. The celebration also featured a performance by the teachers’ choir of the Finland International School in Qatar.
