Ramachandran Ottapath, Co-founder and CEO of Choppies Enterprises Ltd
Doha: Kerala Business Forum (KBF) conducted a webinar on ‘Meet the legend, Session-2’ on December 6 on zoom platform and was attended by more than 150 members. KBF has started Meet the Legend session with an objective of knowing the inspiring success stories of business legends and get an opportunity to its members for interaction with such legends.
African retail legend, Ramachandran Ottapath, Co-founder and CEO of Choppies Enterprises Ltd, Botswana was the keynote speaker of the event. Ramachandran hails from Kerala, India founded the group in 1996 and have geographically expanded to Kenya, Zambia, South Africa and have more than 166 hypermarket chains across Africa.
Choppies is a listed company in Botswana stock market. Ram has mentioned that there are lot of business opportunities across Africa especially in infrastructure and manufacturing sector.
The governments are taking all the steps to attract more and more foreign investors to Africa and ease of doing business there. KBF president Shanavas Bava presided over the meeting,KBF General Secretary, Nihad Mohammed Ali welcomed the gathering, Kimi Allexander delivered vote of thanks. KBF Training coordinator Varghese Varghese moderated the event and introduced the keynote speaker.
IBPC board of governor members AP Manikantan and Thaha Muhammed were greeted the session. Since its reception, KBF has been rendering excellent services to the Indian business community in Qatar consistent with the objective of the organization. One of the major activities is the conduct of the regular managerial and business seminars and training sessions to empower the business community.
