Doha: Asif Iqbal Firdausi produced a glorious all-round display for Hadico and Ajay hit a blazing 75 for Transfast Legends, carrying their teams to crucial victories and into the quarter-finals of the Qatar Airways T20 Cricket Tournament.
Prior to the fourth and final group league matches at the West Bay Grounds, Hadico (three points from one win and one tied match), Chattagram Super Kings (two points from onr win) and Qatar Super Kings ‘Blue’ were all in the contention for the second spot in Pool A.
Firdausi appeared in aggressive mood right from the start and took the responsibility of guiding Hadico from the front. He slammed a six and 16 fours to get 94 off just 59 balls, which lifted his team to a big 205 for three. Atif also hit a superb 66 off 31 balls with three sixes and half a dozen fours.
When Chattagram Super Kings launched the chase, Firdausi returned to grab four wickets for 20 runs and Ali picked three for 24 to set up a comfortable 36-run victory, which also sealed their spot in the last eight stage.
