Amir and UAE President discuss regional and international developments

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of the United Arab Emirates HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday. They discussed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in various fields. They also discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to achieve peace and stability, which will benefit all peoples of the region.

At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed HH the UAE President and the accompanying delegation, expressing his pleasure at this visit, which reflects the deep relations between the two brotherly countries.

For his part, HH the President of the UAE reiterated the UAE's full solidarity with Qatar and its support for all measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and people.

His Highness the President of the UAE stressed that the Israeli attack constitutes a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and all international laws and norms, undermining the security, stability, and prospects for peace in the region. He praised HH the Amir's efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

In this regard, HH the Amir expressed his deep appreciation to HH the UAE President for his solidarity and sincere fraternal feelings, as well as his country's supportive stance towards the State of Qatar and its people.

During the meeting, HH the Amir and HH the President of the UAE exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, most notably the current situation in the Middle East, particularly regarding the ongoing negotiations regarding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue and diplomatic solutions as the best way to overcome regional crises and maintain regional and global security.

The meeting was attended by Personal Representative of HH The Amir HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials.

From the UAE side, the meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence; HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor; HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; HH Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Martyrs' Families; HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; HE Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; HE Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; HE Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the accompanying delegation.

HH the Amir and the UAE President, held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual concern.

HH the Amir also hosted a luncheon in honor of the UAE President and his accompanying delegation.
