Doha: Vodafone showed support to Qatari students in the UK by sponsoring the Eid Charity’s cultural week to keep them connected to Qatari society and values. The week included lectures and sport, cultural and social events, culminating in a ceremony that celebrated high performing and talented students.
The event at Coventry University gathered over 350 students and was attended by VIPs, including Qatari Ambassador to UK Yousef Al Khater, Qatari Cultural Attaché Dr Mohammed Al Kaabi and Vodafone’s COO Mohamed Al Sadah.
In his opening address to the students,  Al Sadah said: “I am honoured to be representing Vodafone at this gathering that brings together the future leaders of our great nation. Vodafone is of one the world’s largest telecom companies and is also a British Company that is very proud to be operating successfully in Qatar so the support of events such as today’s is a natural fit for us.
“Vodafone Qatar’s priority is to help realise Qatar National Vision 2030 by building a world-class telecom infrastructure and do whatever we can to support in the areas of human development, specifically the youth of Qatar.
“Across our operating companies spanning the globe we have initiatives and programmes that support and empower youth. We understand the youth and go to where they are.”
Al Sadah said for Qatar to continue prospering, a strong ICT environment would be fundamental that is overseen by highly talented professionals. He urged the students to pursue education and careers in the field with the hope of welcoming some of them to the Vodafone family. The Peninsula
