Amir: Qatar-Saudi ties based on solid foundations

Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H R H Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired yesterday the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Joint Coordination Council, at the Amiri Diwan. 

At the outset of the meeting, H H the Amir welcomed HRH the Crown Prince in his country and among his family and brothers, expressing his happiness and delight with this important visit for the historical ties between the two countries. His Highness stressed that this visit will deepen the strong and historical ties, especially in light of the circumstances that the region faces, and wished continued success and progress for the two brotherly countries and peoples.

For his part, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud expressed his thanks to H H the Amir and to the State of Qatar, expressing his happiness to be in Doha, the warm welcome, and to work with the Qatari working group, saying he hopes the sixth meeting would achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral relations in all fields. 

Prince Salman highlighted the many bilateral opportunities available to the two countries, and expressed hope they can achieve them in the near future for the benefit of both countries and the region in general.

During the meeting, the council reviewed the strong brotherly bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them in various fields to broader horizons, to meet the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries and serve the interests of their peoples, especially in the political, security, economic, investment fields, as well as other fields. The council also dealt with a number of regional and international issues of joint interest, particularly the latest developments in the region, in addition to exchanging views on everything that would protect stability and security in the region.

Afterwards, H H the Amir and H R H Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince signed the minutes of the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani; H H the Personal Representative of H H the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani; Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers. 

On the Saudi side, it was attended by Their Royal Highnesses and Their Excellencies Princes and ministers, members of the official delegation accompanying HRH the Crown Prince. 
HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was met with an official reception ceremony upon arrival to the Amiri Diwan.

H H the Amir and H R H Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also discussed the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to strengthen them for their common good and interests.

The meeting also dealt with ways to support and enhance joint Gulf action to achieve security and stability in the region, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of joint interest.

During the meeting, H R H Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to H H the Amir, and his wishes of good health and happiness for His Highness, and for the Qatari people continued progress and prosperity.

For his part, H H the Amir entrusted H R H the Crown Prince with his wishes of good health and wellness to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and for further prosperity and progress to the brotherly Saudi people. 

The meeting was attended by H H the Deputy Amir, H H the Personal Representative of H H the Amir, H E the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers. On the Saudi side, it was attended by Their Royal Highnesses and Their Excellencies Princes and ministers, members of the official delegation accompanying HRH the Crown Prince. 

Earlier, H H the Amir led well-wishers to welcome H R H Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon his arrival, and the accompanying delegation to the Doha International Airport on an official visit to the country.

H H the Amir also hosted a dinner banquet in honor of H R H Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the accompanying official delegation at the Museum of Islamic Arts. 

The banquet was attended by H H the Deputy Amir; H H the Personal Representative of H H the Amir;  H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, and H E Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani. The banquet was also attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior,  Speaker of the Shura Council and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers.
