Doha: Kuwaiti rider Abdullah Al Shatti gave an inspired display to retain the Qatar International Enduro title in the E1 category.
On Saturday at Sealine Beach the KTM rider finished with an aggregate of 175 points to top the standings in the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation organised championship.
Kuwait’s Barak Al Jasmi, who ended the season with 137 points, came second. Mubarak Al Ali of UAE finished in the third spot with 135 points.
“I am very happy to again win this championship and thanks to QMMF for running this event so well and improved it a lot from last season, I am really looking forward to participate in the next season,” Al Shatti said after the podium ceremony.
Mohammed Al Balooshi finally managed to clinch the Qatar Championship in the E2 category after falling in his attempt last season after getting very close to winning it.
“I am so happy to win this championship as I have won all the championships in the Arab region except Qatar. It is very good for my career to get this title and now I can say I won everything, so I am really happy for what I have achieved. I really enjoyed today winning both races on this track that was the best of all the rounds,” Al Balooshi said.
The Kuwaiti rider Moath Al Ansari came second in the final standings in the E2 category with 139 points.
Meanwhile, Khalid Al Mohannadi won the T3 Challenge.
In the fourth and last round that took place at Sealine, the Qatari driver won and finished with a total of 93 points, with three victories and one second place.
Mubarak Al Khulaifi who came second also is in the overall second place with 48 points. Fahad Al Qubaisi, came third to take his points tally to 45.the peninsula
