DOHA: Twenty-four students at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q) were honoured for their academic success by being inducted on to the Dean’s Honours List.
The pre-medical students were honoured at a ceremony at Hamad Bin Khalifa Student Center at Education City. Each achieved a 3.75 grade point average during the Spring term, meaning they could be inducted on to the list of Dean Dr Javaid Sheikh.
Six students from the college’s Foundation Programme were also recognised for academic work, having achieved GPAs of 3.75 or above.
Congratulating all students on their academic achievements, Dr. Sheikh said, “I am delighted to be here again to applaud the hard work and dedication shown by all of you. Achieving an academic score of this calibre is no mean achievement and is testament to the quality of students enrolled at WCM-Q.
“These young men and women have worked exceptionally hard and are an inspiration to all.” Two Dean’s Honours Lists are published in each academic year to record achievements of students in the fall and spring semesters — an initiative that began with the fall 2011 semester and has since become a tradition.
