QSE index closes at 8,308.34 points

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index dropped 62.77 points, or 0.75 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 8,308.34 points yesterday.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 7,680,477 from 10,816,419 on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR137.23m from QR198.34m on Wednesday.
Out of the 45 companies listed on QSE, shares of 40 saw trading yesterday. From these, 14 companies gained, 26 closed lower. Indices of five sectors ended in red and two sectors ended in green yesterday. QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.39 percent to 14,472.51 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost 0.54 percent to 3,486.75 points. QSE All Share Index decreased 0.37 percent to 2,380.32 points, reports QNA.
When compared on weekly basis, the QSE index lost 421.72 points, or 4.83 percent, last week compared to the closing of previous week-end.
Trading value during last week decreased by 38.48 percent to reach QR742.66m compared to QR1.20bn.
Trading volume decreased by 22.34 percent to reach 39.87 million shares, as against 51.34 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 21.31 percent, to reach 14,563 transactions as compared to 18,506 transactions.
Market cap fell by 4.84 percent to reach QR444.93bn as compared to QR 467,574,680,709.27 at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 36.65 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 23.87 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 12.34 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 9.19 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 33.96 percent of the total traded volume. Industrials sector, which accounted for 24.63 percent. The Telecoms sector accounted for 21.78 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 10.91 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 32.4 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 19.87 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 14.39 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 13.57 percent.
Out of the 45 listed companies eight ended last week higher, while 36 fell and one remained unchanged.  Vodafone Qatar led trading value during last week accounted for 9.28 percent of the total traded value.
