Doha, Qatar: First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, HE Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari met on Monday with a delegation from the Philippine Ministry of Trade and Industry, headed by the Ministry's Director of the Export Marketing Bureau, HE Bianca Pearl R. Sykimte, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the State of Qatar, HE Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, along with several businessmen from both sides.
The meeting reviewed ways to enhance trade cooperation between the private sector in Qatar and its counterpart in the Philippines, as well as investment opportunities and incentives in both countries.
In his remarks, Qatar Chamber's First Vice Chairman emphasized the distinguished relations between Qatar and the Philippines, pointing out that the Qatar Chamber views the Philippines as a key economic partner in Southeast Asia and commended the active contribution of the Filipino community to Qatar's development.
He also affirmed the Chamber's commitment to enhancing cooperation between the business communities of both countries and opening new horizons for joint investments that serve mutual interests.
Al Kuwari called on Qatari and Filipino companies to explore partnership opportunities for joint projects across various sectors, particularly in food security and personal care products.
Meanwhile, Bianca Pearl R. Sykimte delivered a presentation highlighting investment opportunities, the business climate, and key Philippine food products targeted for the Qatari market.
Additionally, Qatar's Ministry of Public Health gave an overview of the food hygiene sector and the rigorous food safety verification processes.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Qatar, HE Mardomel Celo D. Melicor praised the close relations between the two countries, noting that his country is keen to strengthen these ties across various fields and views Qatar as a gateway to the region's countries, while calling on Qatari businessmen to invest in the Philippines.
