Doha: Abdullah Ali Al Ajeil clinched the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour Round 7 Big Tour title as he returned two superb flawless routines in the Special Two phases 120/130cm class at the outdoor arena of Qatar Equestrian Federation yesterday.

Al Aljeil rode his 10-year-old grey mare La Corona 10 with authority and finesse finishing fastest in 42.35secs and 45.51secs respectively.

Commenting on his performance, Aljeil said, “It was a great competition. It was very tough, with many good riders and horses, but it proved to be my day. My mare jumped really well and I’m happy with the win.”

Seasoned Hamad Nasser Al Qadi on his bay stud Andreas SPB Z had to endure the runners-up spot with times of 44.28secs and 46.21secs in the two rounds.

Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi on grey stud Goliat ended up third clocking 40.84secs with four faults, and 40.58secs respectively.

Earlier, in the Power and Skill (Six Bar) Comp., Art. 262.3 | 115/125cm event in Open Class two riders stood first -- Mohammed Jabor Al Maimi with bay stud Bonhomme D’Orval, and Hamad Nasser Al Qadi on his trusted mount Gibria-B. Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi was third.

In the morning, the Future Riders events saw Mariam Abdulkarim Abed riding Animo’s Boy Van De Dennehoeve win the 90cm class, and Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani, the 80cm class on his horse Kashmir.

Omar bin Khaled Al Manai, Commercial Director of Al Shaqab, and Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of Longines Hathab, honoured the Big Tour winners while Abdul Salam Issa Abu Issa, CEO of Salam International Company - official sponsors of Longines Hathab, awarded the Open Class winners.
