Milan---The drop in stock prices in Milan aggravated late in the trading session on Friday, with the FTSE Mib down 3.47 percent to 18,140 points at 1610 GMT.
The index was dragged down by the plunge of near 9.0 percent for shares in troubled Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, which had soared 12.4 percent after speculation mounted of a takeover attempt by a domestic or foreign bank.
