A magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Davao Oriental on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
According to the bulletin posted by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) at 3:54 pm Saturday, damage is expected, as well as aftershocks.
The Institute added that its epicenter was located in Manay, Davao Oriental at a depth of 28 kilometers.
The Philippines is located in the so-called "ring of fire" in the Pacific, where about 90 per cent of the world's earthquakes occur. (QNA)
