Cairo: The Council of Arab Justice Ministers thanked the State of Qatar for its efforts in the field of combating terrorism legislation.
In a decision regarding (the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism and its implementation mechanisms) at the conclusion of its 37th session, chaired by Algeria today, the Council of Arab Justice Ministers thanked each of the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, for providing the technical secretariat of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers with its efforts to harmonize their legislation with the provisions of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism.
The decision called on the Arab countries that did not send their efforts to submit them to the technical secretariat of the Council. The Council called on the Arab countries that have ratified the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism to continue providing the technical secretariat of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers with the measures they have taken to harmonize their legislation with the provisions of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism, and the proposed ways to activate its provisions.
The Council urged the Arab countries that have not yet ratified the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism to complete the ratification procedures and deposit the ratification documents with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The delegation of the State of Qatar in these meetings was headed by Minister of Justice H E Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri.
