Members from Slovenian Youth Hostel Association take part in ‘Discover Qatar in 144 hours’.
DOHA: Qatar Youth Hostels (QYH) recently welcomed two members from Slovenian Youth Hostel Association to take part in ‘Discover Qatar in 144 hours’ second edition.
‘Discover Qatar in 144 hours’ is a tour program that covers Qatar’s every tourist places in six days.
Abdullah Saeed, Head of Activities Section at QYH said: “This program is part of the strategic objectives and future plan of the youth hostel management which aims at enhance local tourism. This aim highlights Qatar’s effective role in various fields, especially as one of the most prominent features of the tourism strategy for 2030 is to strengthen Qatar’s international standing.”
“Our Slovenian guests were hosted by QYH team which planned a visit program to all Qatar’s main touristic site and attractions in various fields. The members visited the Museum of Islamic Art, Musheireb Museums, Sheikh Faisal Museum, Souq Waqif, Al Wakra Market, Al-Zubara, Khalifa International Stadium, Aspire Park, Torch, Baladna Farm, Cultural Quarter, Katara Mosque, Imam Abdul-Wahab Mosque, and several commercial complexes,” he added.
A tour of the Doha Corniche and a safari trip to Sea line and Khor Al-Adid were also a part of the tour. QYH is pleased to thank its official sponsor Occidental Qatar Petroleum and the institutions that contributed to the success of the program, such as Qatar Museums, Mushaireb Museums, the Museum of Islamic Art, Sheikh Faisal Museum, Aspire Logistics and the country’s farm.
Katarina, the Slovenian traveller, expressed her pleasure to visit Qatar, which is the 62nd country she visited and the 3rd Arab country after Oman and Morocco.
She said that what she liked the most was how safe the country is, how welcoming people were with them especially the representative of the different site and institutions visited and the diversity of the different place she visited.
She added she would definitely encourage Slovenian youth to visit Qatar. “We didn’t know much about Qatar and its history before we came, but during my visit I learned about the many customs and traditions of the Qatari family in the past and the present. The opportunity to meet with Qatari youth was a chance to get closer to Qatari youth and learn about their interests Areas.”
