North Indians’ Association (NIA) organised Deepotsava 2017 to celebrate festival of lights- Diwali on OCtober 26 at Al Fayrouz Ballroom- Doha Marriott Hotel.
Sudhir Gupta, NIA President, welcomed the Chief Guest, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, P Kumran and other guests, Hemant Diwvedi, 1st Sec ( E&C) Indian Embassy; Hassan Chougle; Milan Arun, ICC President, sponsors and NIA members were also present at the event.
Al Fayrouz Ballroom was jam packed with approximately 300 people to witness performances of artists specially flow in from India, Jr. Akshay Kumar-Vikalp Mehta, a comedian & actor; and Pinky (Peacock) Maidasani, a versatile singer.
Vikalp made a power packed entry with his dance number from Akshay Kumar ‘s hit movie. He also performed a dance medley with NIA members’ children.
Various items like Microwave ovens, blenders, luxury wrist watches were given during the raffle draw sponsored by Al Mufta.
Family games made everyone, including new members interact with each other.
Attractive gift hampers consisting of cosmetics were given to the participants.
A silver coin was given to all the NIA members on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
Gift hampers from Qatari-Canadian trading company were also given to the members. Sanjay Arora VP was MC of the event.

NIA is conducting a Family Sports Day on December 1 at Mesaieed Cricket ground. Similarly, NIA is also planning a party on December 31, in a 5 star hotel, which will be confirmed at later stage.
