
The world’s brightest young science and engineering students take out a flag parade to mark the opening of World Robot Olympiad 2015 yesterday. WRO is being held for the first time in Qatar under the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. The three-day event at Al Shaqab Indoor Arena will see over 3,000 participants from more than 45 countries compete in four categories of challenges. WRO is hosted by College of the North Atlantic-Qatar, sponsored by Maersk Oil Qatar and endorsed by the Supreme Education Council and Qatar Petroleum. The event, one of the largest in its 12-year history, supports partners’ commitment to build Qatar’s science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) skills and capacity for generations to come.
