Doha: Dr Mariam Al Maadeed, Director, Qatar University Center for Advanced Materials (QU-CAM), has won the Mentorship Award in the Leadership Excellence for Women Awards in recognition of her mentorship of women in the fields of academia and business. She was recognised for her dedication and commitment to support and engage women to become leaders and achieve success in their professional endeavours.
She said: “I am pleased to have received the award which underlines the level of mentorship, guidance and training at QU to provide students with knowledge, skills and competencies to become the future generation of leaders and professionals and contribute to Qatar’s growth. It also highlights my commitment to encourage females to excel and develop potential as leaders and entrepreneurs as their male counterparts.”
The Leadership Excellence for Women Awards were held recently at the Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition in Bahrain. The awards recognise women’s excellence and leadership in the energy sector.
