Doha, Qatar: The general assembly of Qatar Arabic Language Society in Katara, at its regular meeting, elected the members of the new Board of Directors.
They include Dr. Maryam Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi (pictured), Chairperson of the Board of Directors; Khaled Abdul Rahim Al Sayed, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors; Prof. Raisa Al Dossary, Secretary; Dr. Mansour Al Saadi, Treasurer; and Abdulaziz Abdul Rahim Al Buhashem Al Sayed, Jamal Fayez, and Huda Al Nuaimi as members.
The meeting of the first general assembly of Qatar Arabic Language Association, which was held in Hall 15, Katara, was attended by 12 members, along with three representatives from the Private Associations and Institutions Department of the Ministry of Social Development and Family. Qatar Arabic Language Society was formed on October 16, 2022 to become the first civil cultural association specialised in supporting the Arabic language and consolidating its position and role in promoting national identity, by establishing the use of the Arabic language, spreading awareness of its importance and promoting its use in coordination with the authorities concerned in the country.
The association puts in the list of its priorities innovation and implementation of initiatives and activities that contribute to the dissemination and advancement of the Arabic language in the State of Qatar, by raising the efficiency and refining the skills and developing the capabilities of those interested in the Arabic language, in addition to strengthening the relationship between the association and the local community and developing the spirit of cooperation between them.
