Shanghai---Chinese shares rose 0.92 percent in early trade Tuesday after a long weekend, tracking gains in New York despite liquidity concerns over new listings, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 35.49 points to 3,899.42.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.67 percent, or 14.02 points, to 2,094.42.
The Hong Kong stock market was closed on Monday.
