Doha, Qatar: Al Khor and Al Zakhira Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section of the Municipal Control Department, implemented an awareness campaign for workers in Al Khor Fish Market.
The drive aimed at introducing them to the most important health requirements necessary while carrying out their work in the market, said the Ministry of Municipality in a statement issued recently.
The campaign included awareness of healthy methods for handling and storing fish, and a supervisory role through inspection of fish offered at auction before being offered for sale to ensure they are safe and free of any diseases, symptoms or changes that make them unfit for human consumption.
This is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Municipality to educate food handlers about the health rules to ensure the health and safety of people.
