Lausanne, Switzerland: The Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and SportAccord (the umbrella organisation for both Olympic and non-Olympic international sports federations) signed a partnership agreement in Lausanne, Switzerland.
This partnership connects the International Federations and the National Olympic Committees, also in partnership with the International Olympic Committee, in developing the global sports movement in the spirit of the Olympic Charter and with International Federations.
Both will identify areas of mutual interest and will actively coordinate their actions for the benefit of sport and society.
Marius Vizer, SportAccord President said: “The partnership between ANOC and SportAccord creates a strong alliance between the two organisations which will result in mutual benefits. The ultimate scope for us is to influence positively and support in the best way all the Sports People around the Globe.”
Sheikh Ahmad Al Sabah, ANOC President said: “This partnership is for the benefit of all the Olympic Movement, to increase the cooperation between the NOCs and International Sport Federations for the benefit of the all Athletes inside or outside the Olympic Games Programme. This cooperation is in close partnership with the IOC in the principle of the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Charter.”
