A training session under way in Jakarta, Indonesia.

DOHA: Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has organised a training programme for charity organisations in Jakarta, Indonesia, to introduce its system to approve international charity projects.
The training session was attended by 39 representatives from 11 local humanitarian and charity organisations, from all over the country.
Ali Qaid Al Qalisi, Head of Asian Projects and Programmes at RAF addressed the trainees.
He explained the rules and regulation of RAF to approve the proposed projects submitted by its partners for collecting donations for finance.
He talked in details about the required documents from the partners for submitting any type of projects — development, relief or social to RAF. Al Qalisi said that local partners are required to file certain documents before and after the approval of the projects.
He stressed that a feasible study should also be conducted before taking the proposals to RAF for approval. The necessary specification of the projects like those related to engineering, construction, architect and environment among others should be also mentioned in the proposal.
Al Qalisi has demonstrated several models of development projects implemented by RAF in collaboration with its local partners in Indonesia.
RAF believed in quality and made standards for its projects that should be abided by financers and local partners as well especially for construction projects like mosques, Islamic centers and orphanages among others.
The buildings run decades long carrying the name of RAF, so it is necessary to focus on quality of the project for the prestige of the foundation, said Al Qalisi.
A project goes through several stages – proposal, approval, donation collection and financing.
