Tokyo: Tokyo stocks slipped Friday, with Takata dropping more than eight percent after US regulators ordered an expansion in recalls of the company's faulty airbags, which have been blamed for at least 13 deaths globally.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 0.25 percent, or 40.66 points, to close at 16,106.72, following a three-day holiday.
The Topix index of all first-section shares lost 0.13 percent, or 1.64 points, to 1,298.32.
