Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour has successfully concluded a series of consultative workshops on the 2025 Private Sector Job Nationalisation Plan.

The workshops witnessed active participation from representatives of companies and institutions across key sectors, including information technology, digital services, education, food, and agriculture—all of which are integral to the nationalisation plan. These sessions were designed to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and discuss strategies to enhance the employment of Qatari nationals.

These workshops are part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to foster cooperation with the private sector, exchange expertise, and identify best practices for attracting and retaining national talent. The overarching goal is to empower the private sector to increase the proportion of qualified Qatari nationals in the workforce.

In her address at the workshop, Shaikha Abdulrahman Al Badi, Assistant Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs at the Ministry, emphasised the vital role the private sector plays in driving sustainable development and economic growth.

She underscored the importance of continuous collaboration between the Ministry and private sector entities to meet the strategic objectives of job nationalisation. Al Badi also highlighted the private sector’s role as an active partner in developing innovative strategies to attract national talent and achieve nationalisation goals.

She noted that the Ministry is in the process of establishing sector-specific councils to facilitate ongoing dialogue with private sector institutions and coordinate efforts to achieve shared objectives. These councils aim to gain a deeper understanding of private sector needs, collect labour market data, and support the development of sector-specific human capacity strategies.

She reiterated the significance of the consultative workshops, which have been an essential platform for fostering cooperation, exchanging ideas, and enriching discussions to strengthen partnerships aimed at achieving nationalisation goals and shared ambitions.

During the workshop, Abdulrahman Mohammed Telfat, Director of the National Manpower Recruitment Department at the Ministry of Labour, provided an overview of the nationalisation plan.

He explained that the Private Sector Job Nationalisation Law has accelerated efforts to attract national talent through a comprehensive programme offering incentives to companies, including salary support, coverage of General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority contributions, and awards for entities achieving the highest levels of job nationalisation.

Mohammed Salem Al Khlaifi, Acting Director of the Qualifying and Skills Development Department, outlined the training and qualification programmes provided by the Ministry for job seekers in the private sector. These initiatives include on-the-job training for recent graduates and job seekers, training-to-employment programmes, and summer training for university and secondary school students. The aim is to develop the skills of the national workforce, build a pool of qualified talent, and enhance their competitiveness in the labour market through collaboration with the private sector.
