Over 8,300 new vehicles registered in Sept

Doha: A total of 8,367 new vehicles were registered during September 2022. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 5.3%, but  an annual increase of 13.3%.

This came in the 105th issue of Qatar: Monthly Statistics bulletin, a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis by the Planning and Statistics Authority (QSA).

The bulletin highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during September 2022 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census.  

The total number of inbound visitors reached about 151,000 in September recording a monthly increase of 2.0% (compared to August 2022) and an annual increase of 126.0% (compared to September 2021). 

The highest number of visitors was from the GCC countries at 45%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 61% of the total number of visitors.

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the increase in the general index by a positive month-on-moth change rate of 1.22% compared to August 2022 also it increased at an annual rate of 6.1% (compared to September 2021). The largest increase was in Entertainment and Culture category with 6.03%, compared to the previous month.  The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.64 million at September 2021 to 2.99 million at September 2022.

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2,252 live births have been registered during September 2022. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 25.3% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 230 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 0.4% compared to August 2022. 

September 2022 witnessed a monthly increase of 16.4% of total marriage contracts and a monthly decrease 5.8% of total divorce certificates compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 369 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 226 cases.

As for the Social Security statements, reached QR78m in September 2022, for 14,452 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 0.8%for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.4% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

Total electricity consumption during September 2022 was 4278.2GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 29.0% and an annual decrease of 16.0%. While the total water consumption has reached 32768.2m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 44.7% and an annual decrease of 43.0% comparing to September 2021.

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR688bn during September 2022, an annual increase of 11.4% compared with September 2021. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR965bn during September 2022. The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 1.1% compared to September 2021, when deposits recorded approximately QR975bn.

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 884 permits during September 2022, recording a monthly increase of 12.8% and an annual increase of 20.1%. A total of 803 traffic cases were recorded during September 2022, showing a monthly increase of 17.2% and an annual increase by 31.6%.
