Doha: Qatar University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hassad Food Company for cooperation in field of training, research projects and applied sciences.
The agreement will enhance cooperation in scientific research and exchange of experiences, and training a group of QU students in several companies affiliated with Hassad, introducing them to the importance of food security and the agricultural sector.
Under this cooperation, students will be opportune to learn about food and agricultural investment through practical experience, starting from agriculture to production and manufacturing processes.
On this occasion, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham said that one of the university’s goals is cooperation and partnership with the leading institutions in Qatar. He praised Hassad Food Company's achievements since its inception and the presence of Qatari youths who can manage large and successful projects. At the same time, he noted that the memorandum is the beginning of partnerships and cooperation that will evolve in the future.
For his part, CEO of Hassad Food Company Eng Mohamed Badr Al Sadah expressed his happiness to cooperate with Qatar University in this important training programme.
Through it, the company will introduce the younger generations to the importance of the food and agricultural sector and encourage them to join in line with the company’s strategy that includes supporting initiatives and activities that enhance Qatar’s food security efforts.
