Doha: Oud and piano-playing competition Awtar 2022 concluded yesterday. The competition was held by Qatar University in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture’s Music Affairs Centre.
The closing ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham, and a number officials and students.
The Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman honoured the winners and the jury of the first edition of Awtar 2022.
Student Hassan Al Kubaisi won first prize in the Oud category, followed by Saud Al Aqail and Moharam Kathem.
In the Piano category, Omar Yasser won first place. He was followed by Mohammed Sayed and Lahdan in Al Mohannadi.
