1,547 abandoned vehicles removed in July, says Ministry of Municipality

Doha: The Joint Committee for the Removal of Abandoned Vehicles has removed 1,547 abandoned vehicles in July.

The efforts continue to remove abandoned vehicles, equipment and machines from various municipalities in coordination with the concerned authorities, said the Ministry of Municipality in a statement.

The committee’s efforts in July resulted in the removal of 1,547 vehicles, including 937 vehicles that were transferred to the Al Mashaf scrapyard in Al Wakra and 610 vehicles to Umm Salal scrapyard. From July 1 to 26, as many as 1,571 abandoned vehicles were disposed of, whether by sale, destruction or claimed by the owners.

The total sales of abandoned vehicles during the period of study amounted to QR950,500. While the number of vehicles sold through Mzad Qatar reached 393 vehicles in recent months at a cost of QR3,262,995.
