Doha: The fifth round of the Qatar SuperBike Championship (QSBK) and sixth round of the Qatar Challenge (QCH) will be held under the floodlights of the Losail International Circuit this weekend.
Qatari rider Mishal Al Naimi is currently leading the QSBK standings with 157 points and hopes to increase his lead over Alex Cudlin, who is second with 134 points.
In the previous two rounds, Moto2 rider Anthony West notched up four victories and is third place in the standings with 100 points. German rider Nina Prinz is in fourth with 100 points.
In the Supersport category, the leader is Lebanese rider Mahmoud Tannir with 161 points followed by Qatar’s Jassim Al Thani with 149 points. The previous round was won by Saudi rider Abdulaziz Binladin, who is fourth with 100 points.
For the Losail Asian Road Racing Series it will be the last round of the season. Hungarian rider Victoria Kis is leading the championship with 160 points.
On Friday, QSBK free practice will be held at 4pm and 6.15pm and qualifying practice will be at 8.15pm. The Superpole will be at 11.35pm. The two races are scheduled on Saturday at 7.35pm and 10.10pm respectively.
Before the sixth round of the Qatar Challenge, Mark Holroyd is leading the championship and he has a lot of options to get the championship in this round. Holroyd is leading with 111 points and his nearest rival, Peter de Vido, is way behind on 66 points.
QCH free practice and qualifying practices will be held at 7pm and 9pm on Friday. The race will be held at 8.45pm on Saturday.
Entry to the grandstand is free for the public.
