Qatar Open: Almagro first to quarter-finals, could face Andy Murray

Doha: Nicolas Almagro became today the first to reach the quarter-finals of the 25th Qatar Exxon Mobil Open 2017, which has a total prize money of $2.334 million.
The competition is the first of the ATP world tour season and takes place on Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. The Spaniard qualified after defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-6 and 7-6 in the opening match of the second round.
Almagro will meet the winner of the match between World no. 1 Andy Murray and Austrian Gerald Melzer, which will take place later today. Almagro has one the first round against Italy's Paolo Lorenzi 7-6, 4-6 and 6-3.
