Doha: The Pak Youth Society Qatar (PYS) organised 69th Independence Day celebrations with the theme ‘Pakistan Mubarak ho’ at the Sapphire Plaza Hotel. It was hosted by Dania group.
PYS’s President Qazi Mohammed Asghar spoke about the celebration and Irfan Haider highlighted PYS’s vision and mission. Pakistan’s national songs were sung.
Prominent Pakistan columnist, poet and writer Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi was Chief Guest. Wajid Hassan Hashmi, Charge d’Affaires at the Pakistan Embassy, chaired the event, attended by poets Uzair Ahmed from Pakistan and Qamar Riaz from Oman in addition to a large number of members of the Pakistani community.
Pak-Qatar Business Forum President Ahmed Hussain encouraged such events to promote love for motherland while PYS Patron-in-Chief Shahzad Ahmad Mughal proposed the vote of thanks. There was also live streaming on social media engaging over 3,000 people virtually cordinated by PYS members Salman Tahir and Saad Qazi.
