President of Singapore H E Tharman Shanmugaratnam met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, on the sidelines of His Excellency’s participation in the Shangri-La Dialogue which is organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). Talks during the meeting dealt with topics of mutual interest between the two sides and the latest developments in the region, particularly the Israeli war on Gaza. They highlighted Qatar’s role in mediation efforts and its commitment to achieving a ceasefire and ending the war on Gaza.
Separately, Prime Minister of Singapore H E Lawrence Wong met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah. During the meeting, the two sides discussed topics of shared concern, and developments in the region, particularly the Israeli war on Gaza. The meetings were attended by Ambassador of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore H E Saoud bin Jassim Al Jufairi, along with several senior officials from both sides.
