Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Agricultural Quarantine Offices, inspected 4,839 imported shipments weighing 145,819 tonnes, from various types of imported agricultural consignments, such as plants and production inputs products in January at all customs ports in the country.
The quarantine offices destroyed 20 shipments that weigh more than 7.24 tonnes for violating the agricultural quarantine law and for certain damages. The agricultural quarantine is a first line of defense for protection from agricultural infections.
