
DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has revised some job categories and released guidelines about its services and vision in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development.
The guidelines have been issued for the first time by the Ministry, which explain its vision, administrative structure and key services it provides.
The Ministry has finalized restructuring of supervisory level job categories, said Mohammad Hasan Al Malki, Head of Human Resource Department and Acting Head of Quality and Planning Departments at the Ministry
The revised draft has been approved by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari (pictured).
Other job categories are being restructured and the remaining ones will be revised soon, said Al Malki.
The Ministry is working to prepare a five-year strategic plan (2017-22) in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development, he added. The vision of the Ministry is to build a contemporary Islamic community based on Islamic law and local culture and traditions, Qatar News Agency reports.
Regarding the guidelines, Al Malki said: “They will explain the activities and developments at the Ministry and the departments working under it.
The guidelines include 10 key services provided by the Ministry. They are religious call and guidance, introducing Islamic teaching and spreading Islamic values among non-Arabic speaking expatriate communities.
The Ministry is also providing copies of the Holy Quran and Islamic books free of cost to people, among other services.
The departments and centres run directly by the Ministry are internal audit, legal affairs, planning and quality, public relations, Zakat Fund, endowment, religious call and guidance and mosque management.
The departments and centres also include Islamic affairs, Islamic studies and research, Hajj and Umra, IT, human resource, finance and administration, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre.
