DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Continuing Care Group has (CCG) been accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) for long-term care, following an intensive certification process.
The accreditation recognises the high-quality healthcare services offered by the CCG and highlights ongoing development of a world-class public healthcare system for the population of the country.
Facilities within CCG now JCI-accredited include the Enaya Specialised Care Centre, the Enaya Continuing Care Centre (Muaither 1 and 2), the Rehabilitation Services and Psychiatry Department under Rumailah Hospital, and HMC’s Home Healthcare Services.
Mahmoud Al Raisi (pictured), Chief, CCG, said the accreditation marked a milestone for the specialised services offered by HMC.
“The accreditation process is rigorous and achieving accreditation involves months of hard work and cooperation from various departments.
“This is a great illustration of excellent teamwork and commitment to quality, and provides evidence of the maturity of our healthcare services,” Al Raisi added.
“I am proud of our team who works hard every day to ensure our long-term patients receive the highest standards of care and we are delighted with this accreditation,” he added.
The final certificate was issued last week following a survey in October where JCI representatives visited and appraised the services.
JCI has specific standards for long-term care facilities and the survey involved a week of inspection with two surveyors, according to Al Raisi.
The CCG is not the first of HMC’s services to receive the accreditation. All of HMC’s hospitals are JCI-accredited, a certification process renewed on a three-year basis.
JCI surveys and certifies hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world.
There are over 800 JCI-accredited organisations in 90 countries.
