Rabat: The ‘Marrakech, Youth Capital of the Islamic World 2025’ kicked off, with Qatari participation, represented by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, alongside nearly 200 young men and women from more than 48 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Qatari delegation participating in the events was headed by Nasser Al-Jabri from the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Qatar’s participation featured a presentation on the challenges that faced youth during the COVID-19 pandemic and the role of youth in supporting and developing many fields, such as technology and manufacturing, and contributing to the efforts of the ministries of health and education to combat the pandemic. This presentation was part of the activities of the first day of the ‘Marrakech, Youth Capital of the Islamic World 2025’ event, which addressed the COVID-19 pandemic and the contributions of youth to it.

These events, which will continue until December 5, seek to create a multidimensional international space aimed at enhancing youth participation in solving social and economic challenges in the Islamic world, while also supporting the values ​​of solidarity and cultural exchange, and consolidating the principles of tolerance and coexistence among different cultures.

The ‘Marrakech, Youth Capital of the Islamic World 2025’ program includes a diverse series of intellectual, cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, in addition to meetings discussing issues of democracy, peace and security, cultural identity, and the role of youth in achieving sustainable development.
