DOHA: North Indians’ Association (NIA) organised poets’ conference (Kavi Sammelan) on April 20 at Hotel Holiday Inn.
One of the best panel of Kavi’s (poet) viz. Padmashri Surender Sharma, Sudeep Bhola, Mumtaz Nassem, Ved Prakash and Dinesh Raghuvanshi were flown in to Qatar for the season two Kavi sammelan.
AL Masa hall was jam packed with approx. 400 people. These Kavi’s made every one to laugh and think not less than three hours with their latest composition and satire. Each one was the best in their field whether it was on satire on Indian politicians, or on husband. Some of the emotional composition on daughter and mother were very much appreciated by the audience. Surender Sharma - Char lina suna raha hu fame, got standing ovation.
Sudhir Gupta, President NIA, welcomed gathering. In his speech, he mentioned about efforts put in conducting NIA’s 2nd Kavi sammelan, which was also organized keeping in mind Vishwa Hindi Diwas and Baisakhi festival.
Chief guest, Indian Ambassador to Qatar P Kumaran addressed the audience in Hindi. In his speech, he applauded NIA’s effort to promote Hindi language among Indian community by conducting Hindi Diwas and pro-grams like Kavi Sammelan.
