Doha: With the participation of 10 local farms, a flower festival has begun at Al Mazrouah Yard located at Umm Salal Central Market.
The festival is being organised by the Ministry of Municipality represented by Agricultural Affairs Department and Public Parks Department.
The opening ceremony was attended by Head of Agricultural Guidance and Services Section, Ahmad Salim Al Yafai; General Manager of Aswaq Company, Mohammed Ghanem Al Kubaisi and a number of farm owners.
Ahmad Salim Al Yafai said that the festival is offering high quality flowers from local farms. “It is first event since Al Mazrouah Yard was shifted to new place which aims at making the Yard further attractive for customers. The main purpose is to promote local fruits and vegetables,” said Al Yafai.
He said that 10 local farms are participating in the festival with large quantity of season flowers including Al Qataf and those used for ornamental purpose. The festival will run for ten days until January 8, 2022.
