QNA

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the continuing crisis in the Gulf could have long term impacts on the region’s economic growth, warning that if the crisis drags on, it will negatively impact mid-term growth prospects for the six GCC countries.
The IMF warned yesterday that a protracted rift could weaken medium-term growth prospects, noting that a continuation of the crisis will slow progress toward greater GCC integration and cause a broader erosion of confidence, reducing investment and growth, and increasing funding costs.
The IMF report expected that Qatar’s GDP growth is expected to reach 3.1% in 2018, compared to 2.5% in the current year.
