Doha: The second round of the Qatar SuperBike Championship (QSBK) is also being held this weekend, as a support race to the WSBK round, at Losail International Circuit.
In the qualifying session yesterday, Alex Cudlin set the best time of 2.03.220.
“In the QSBK I didn’t make a lot of laps as I had to be fresh because I was riding in both championships. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time losing my energy. But so far in the QSBK, I am in the first position in the qualifying session and I know that Mishal will be fast in the race. For WSBK, the first session was really nice at the beginning. I was in the top 10 for a lot of the session and ended in the 14th spot. But for me the most important thing is the position in the EVO where I finished in third place. So we can fight for the win in the EVO. The bike is really good but it is completely different to the bike in the Qatari championship, so it is like riding completely different bikes, but so far so good all is ok.” Cudlin said after the QSBK qualifying.
Mishal Al Naimi was second in qualifying and Nina Prinz was third.
“Firstly, I want to thank Ten Kate team for their support in this round, they helped me a lot. I was first in the free practice, second in the qualifying and I am doing some changes in the set up so that I can help us make a good result and take the win in this round,” Al Naimi said after the session.
Today, the first QSBK race will be held at Losail International Circuit at 4pm and the second race will be at 8.30pm.
