Doha, Qatar: Qatar's Defence Ministry confirmed that three cruise missiles were launched from Iran with the armed forces intercepting two, while one hit an oil tanker in the country's territorial waters.

Kuwait Interior Ministry handles 13 reports of debris from defensive interceptions

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced that explosive ordnance disposal teams responded to 13 reports involving debris resulting from defensive interception operations over the past 24 hours. This makes the number of reports recorded 629 since the start of aggression, according to the Ministry's spokesperson, Brigadier Nasser Buslaib.

Jordanian Air Force intercepts one Iranian missile, 2 drones in past 24 hours

The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) on Wednesday announced that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted one missile and two drones launched from Iran, which targeted Jordanian territory over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Public Security Directorate spokesperson said the relevant units handled six reports involving falling shrapnel and projectiles in the past 24 hours. The spokesperson said that no injuries were reported as a result of the incidents, although some material damage was recorded.

Spreading rumours is a legal offense, warns MOI

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its warning against spreading rumors, stating that it is a legal violation. 

It added that the public should obtain information from official sources, verify the date of the news before sharing it, report suspicious content via the Metrash app and avoid sharing or reposting unverified content. 

The MOI also emphasized that public awareness contributes to maintaining safety.

UAE petrol jumps 30 pct as Mideast conflict bites

United Arab Emirates petrol prices rose more than 30 percent on Wednesday, with diesel soaring 72 percent, one month into the Middle East conflict.

Monthly rates set by the UAE's fuel price committee put petrol up 31-33 percent for April, with the highest grade at 3.39 AED ($0.92). Diesel, commonly used by trucks and buses, rose to 4.69 AED ($1.28) per litre. Read more

Philippines eyes 'deepening cooperation' with Iran on energy

The Philippines is committed to "deepening cooperation" with Iran, particularly on energy, Manila's foreign secretary said on Wednesday as the import-dependent archipelago jockeys with other regional countries for desperately needed oil.

The price of fuel has hit historic highs in the Philippines since the United States launched strikes on Iran on February 28, with the war forcing the partial closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz.

President Ferdinand Marcos declared a state of national energy emergency last week, later saying that "nothing was off the table" as the country of 116 million tried to meet its need for fuel.

Foreign Secretary Theresa Lazaro said in a post on social media platform.

“Building on the momentum of our Political Consultations last November 2025, we are committed to deepening our cooperation across all fronts, particularly energy cooperation,” she said of the meeting. Read more

National Bank of Kuwait shuts headquarters amid Iran attacks

 A major Kuwaiti bank said it will close its headquarters in the capital for two days starting Wednesday, as Iran carries out daily strikes on the Gulf more than one month into the Middle East war.

“National Bank of Kuwait will close its headquarters and Subhan branch today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, due to current developments and in the interest of everyone’s safety and business continuity,” the bank said in a statement carried by state news agency Kuna. Read more

Drone shrapnel kills Bangladeshi expat in UAE 

Authorities in the Emirates of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, announced that relevant authorities are responding to an incident caused by falling debris from a drone, which resulted in one fatality.

The Fujairah Media Office stated that the incident occurred in a farm in Al-Rifa'a area, caused by falling debris following the successful interception of a drone by air defenses. 

“Shrapnel falling from the interception of a drone... resulted in the killing of a person of Bangladeshi nationality,” WAM posted on X, adding that the incident happened in Fujairah, which is close to the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar Airways further revises flight schedules to more than 120 destinations

Qatar Airways has published its latest revised schedule, reflecting the gradual increase in flights to, and from, Doha to more than 120 destinations by mid-May 2026, across the airline’s global network.

All flights to, and from, Doha continue to operate through dedicated flight corridors established in close coordination with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the airlines stated in a press statement. Read more

QatarEnergy confirmed that the Aqua 1, a fuel oil tanker chartered to QatarEnergy, was the subject of a missile attack in the northern territorial waters of the State of Qatar in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 1, 2026. 

None of the crew members on board were injured, and there is no impact on the environment as a result of this incident. Read more

Qatar targeted by three cruise missiles: Defence Ministry

The Ministry of Defence announced that the State of Qatar was targeted today, April 1, 2026, by three cruise missiles launched from Iran. 

"Our armed forces, by the grace of Allah, successfully intercepted two of the cruise missiles, while the third missile struck an oil tanker leased to Qatar Energy in Qatar's territorial waters," the Ministry said. Read more

Qatar calls on all parties to refrain from targeting vital civilian infrastructure

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari has called on all parties to the war to refrain from targeting vital civilian infrastructure.

Al-Ansari further called upon all parties to the conflict to refrain from attacking energy and nuclear infrastructure and urged them to return to the negotiating table. “Since this escalation began, we have warned against targeting vital civilian infrastructure. We have said it very clearly that this is a threat to all of us in the region. This region depends heavily on desalination (plants). Therefore we see this as a very big threat to the people’s lives here in the region, and we condemn all attacks on civilian infrastructure as completely unnecessary and very dangerous for the whole region.” Read more
