QU to honour Sheikh Joaan and launch fourth edition of National CSR report

DOHA: Qatar University (QU) will launch the fourth edition of the National CSR (Leaders’ Vision) tomorrow under the patronage of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. 
H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President, Qatar Olympic Committee, will be honoured as CSR Person of the Year 2015 in recognition of his role in supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR) and for being a role model in inspiring youth of Qatar.
The Premier will present the report which will be distributed to Qatari embassies around the world through the Foreign Ministry, one of the partners of the report. 
Other government partners include QOC, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce Logistic Committee, and National Security Programme (Somod). 
The academic report documents achievements of national organisations in CSR and monitors progress in social development and Qatar National Vision 2030. 
This year’s edition is the first academic primary study prepared in Qatar by researchers and students of QU’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) under the supervision of the CSR Committee. 
It includes intellectual contributions from ministers, ambassadors, representatives of international organisations and academic personalities in Qatar. 
The Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah International Foundation for Energy and Sustainable Development presented its global vision. Other contributors are Qatar Shell, INJAZ Qatar, Asthma Qatar Network, and the embassies of the UAE, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany.
The report, part of a memorandum of understanding signed between QU and the CSR Network, also honours leading companies in CSR, and is sponsored by high-level organisations.The Peninsula
