DOHA: More than 40,000 people visited the newly opened Al Khor Park last weekend. The park has a mini zoo, with animals and birds shifted from the Doha Zoo which is undergoing renovation.
A total of 188 animals and birds have been shifted to the mini zoo and another 13 will be moved very soon, said Abu Baker Hamouda, Head, Veterinary and Supervision Section.
Meanwhile, the Umm Salal Municipality marked Qatar Environment Day, with an awareness lecture attended by students from several schools. At the end of the lecture, saplings were distributed to the participating students for planting in their homes.The Peninsula
