
Doha: President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and his accompanying delegation Monday visited the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in the framework of his current visit to the country.
The Nigerian President toured the museum and viewed its contents which included books, manuscripts and coins made of silver, copper and bronze as well as other artefacts and precious stones which have been collected from the three continents and dates back to 14 centuries.
During the tour, President Mohammed Bukhari was briefed on history of the MIA and its role in disseminating science, culture and encouraging creativity and communication with cultures and arts of the world.
Following the tour, the Nigerian President signed the honorary record of the MIA highlighting the contents of the MIA describing these collections as a wealth to the Islamic culture and heritage.
During the tour, the Nigerian President was escorted by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada and HE Ambassador of Qatar to Nigeria Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al-Muhannadi.
